INDOOR SOOCER 2010-2011.
REGISTRATION is NOW OPEN for the 2010/2011 Indoor Soccer Season at the Dufferin Center in Acton.
For Administrative reasons and to comply with the rules of our governing organization, YOUTH indoor soccer is being run by Georgetown Soccer Club, and the adult leagues are being run by Acton Villa.
Below applies to ADULT INDOOR (Men's, Women's, and Co-Ed). For youth information, visit the Georgetown SC web site.
For 2010 - 2011 indoor, all adult registrations are to be done on-line, and all players must register in this way. No more paper forms. Payment options remain cash, cheque, or credit card.
FULL TEAM PAYMENT
New this year, we are bringing back Team Payments! This way, YOU control your roster: the Club will not allocate any players to your team (unless you ask us to find someone) and it's your responsibility to find the right number of friends to play.
If a team chooses this payment option, then the team must appoint one person to choose the TEAM PAYMENT option during their on-line registration.
This person, Team Captain, will be responsible for submitting payment on-line by credit card for the total team registration fee or off-line with cash and/or chq(s) made payable to the Acton Soccer Club for the total amount of the team registration fee.
As well, the Team Captain will be responsible for ensuring that all players have filled-out and signed the TEAM REGISTRATION/WAIVER form PRIOR to playing on the field AND ensuring that NO unregistered players are ever permitted to play on the field with the team unless their registration is complete.
As always, until the total registration amount has been paid, the team will remain wait-listed until the balance is paid in full.
Now, email the list of players to registrar@actonsoccer.org , and tell the players to register on-line as "TEAM PLAYERS" and in the "team" box either put the team name or captain or names of some of the players you wish to play with so we can recognise you all.
GROUPS OF PLAYERS (NOT A COMPLETE TEAM)
If nobody wants to pay the full team amount, or you don't have enough players for a full team, you can still keep a group together. Just email the list of players to registrar@actonsoccer.org . All the players then register on-line as individuals and in the "team" box either put the name of a team or enter the names of some players you wish to play with so we can recognise you all. See REQUESTS below for more details.
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
You may choose from 2 PAYMENT methods at the end of the registration.
1) VISA or MASTERCARD:
will give you immediate confirmation of your registration. REGISTER EARLY TO ASSURE AVAILABILITY!
2) CHEQUE/CASH:
You will not officially be registered until you have paid. By selecting this payment method, you must print a copy of your registration invoice (a copy is also emailed to you) which must be submitted with your payment (cheques made payable to ACTON SOCCER CLUB). Please write the invoice# in the memo section of your cheque. OPTION A: send both in by mail (don't do this with cash: cheque only for mail-in payment) to ACTON SOCCER CLUB, P.O. BOX 248, ACTON, ONTARIO L7J 2M4. You are not registered until your payment is processed. To avoid disappointment, please send payment straight away. OPTION B: bring both to the Acton Soccer Club office at the D.R.H.C.C., 30 Park Avenue, Acton during office hours posted on our home page. Email contact: registrar@actonsoccer.org or Phone (519) 853-8317. OPTION C: drop both off before at THE DOLLAR STRETCHER DAZE store in Acton. You are not registered until your payment is processed. To avoid disappointment, pay promptly! If you would like a receipt, print off two copies of the INVOICE and bring them to the Dollar Stretcher store. The store doesn't have a copier and won't provide receipts because they are doing all this as a favour to Acton Villa and the citizens of Halton Hills. Payments by Cheque: YOUR REGISTRATION WILL BE IN A WAITLIST QUEUE UNTIL YOUR PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED. DATES
There are two sessions: 12 Weeks Sep 28 - Dec 19, 2010, and 14 Weeks Jan 9 - Apr 14, 2011.
REQUESTS Requests - including registration of complete teams - are welcome in the ADULT categories. The game will be 6 v 6, so teams are to have 10 players target, 12 maximum.
If you are a COMPLETE TEAM, you are responsible to find your players. We recommend 10 players per team, but you can have up to 12 for the same price (which is equal to 9 individual registrations).
If your group can only raise (say) 6 players who register as individuals, the rest will be assigned from others who register as individuals. If you nominate ten players, but only (say) six have paid with two weeks to go before the season starts, Acton Villa will fill the team for you. And in the end we might not be able to fit your original players into your team: so tell them to act quickly!
If you wish to have a team made up of more than 12 specific players, please contact us at www.actonsoccer.org as the uniform sets typically have 12 shirts.
COMPLETE TEAM: If you wish to register a complete team, register yourself on-line, choose the TEAM PAYMENT and choose a team name. Tell your friends to register on-line as TEAM PLAYERS and use the same team name, or your name if they can't remember. In MEN'S - specify the Division. Premier Division is for more accomplished players, while First Division is a lower level of play. The rules are the same either way and so is the standard of behaviour: it's just to keep the desired level of competition closer.
GROUPS/INDIVIDUALS: Now if your "team" is only a few players - 2 to 8 - we will keep you together combined with individuals or other groups.
Co-ED or MEN / WOMEN?
ADULT Co-Ed is intended to be less competitive and much less serious than the mid-week evening Men and Women sessions. The mens and coed leagues will be run as two divisions: the more athletic players will be in the "Premier Division", while recreational teams will be in the "First Division". COED IS STILL LOW-CONTACT - and all games remain strictly no-slide-tackles.
Co-ed is for recreational play for a mix of ages and sizes, and mixed gender. Highly accomplished players should temper their play accordingly, or sign up for the men's/women's leagues instead. PREMIER DIVISION COED is still LOW-CONTACT recreational play. If you want a very competitive game, COED is not for you! Competitive women will find coed is fine: competitive men may not.
In all of the leagues, we have teams of neighbours, friends, co-workers - or take pot luck, register on your own and make new friends.
Adults: Be CAREFUL when you register. The less intense co-ed experience on Sundays is ADULT INDOOR CO-ED, while the men's and women's leagues are Indoor MEN and WOMEN respectively. CAREFUL when you register.
What's Skills? SKILLS refers to a Soccer Academy run for player and coach development, pioneered by Georgetown SC. SKILLS DETAILS AVAILABLE HERE
What should I wear? Players can use their outdoor cleats on this artifical surface, which is similar to the one players play on at BMO field in Toronto. Some players prefer their indoor soccer shoes: bring both types with you if you haven't played on this type of surface before and you can choose (shoes?) which works for you. Personally, I like turf shoes the best.
